Recycled materials. Sustainability. Bright and colourful interiors.

What started as a simple cottage restoration turned into a journey through history.
The project was meant to be a small fibro cladding addition, instead we chose to honour the home's history. It quickly became clear that this home deserved more than a standard extension—it deserved a story.
Rather than introducing entirely new materials, we worked alongside the homeowners to incorporate original bricks salvaged from inside the cottage.
Finding enough matching bricks wasn't straightforward. The owners embarked on a mission to uncover pieces of their family's past, tracking down additional original bricks, weaving history and heart into every wall.
Our work on this home included renovating three bedrooms and the main bathroom, as well as the extension comprising of an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, and laundry. Every element was designed to connect seamlessly with the original cottage, creating bright, light-filled spaces.
The recycled brick brings personality to the cottage, complimented by the pops of colour of the interior design.
The concrete works hard behind the scenes as a thermal product, keeping the space comfortable all year round and adding to the sustainability of the house.

One of the most special moments of this project was discovering the brickmakers' stamps. Each stamp is a unique signature of the craftsman who made that brick.
It felt right to showcase the handmade stamp. The legend bricklayer Dougie made this feature happen.
Laid. Knocked down. Cleaned. Recycled. The Heart of the Home.

With an industrial Victorian style in mind, together with the client, we were able to create an elegant and calming space for this main bathroom.
It feels like a retreat, featuring green tiles, a beautiful bespoke vanity, a spacious shower, claw foot bath

The owner has decided to share this beautiful space with the community, now running as an Air BnB. Check it out by searching them up on Google.
